Rio: Fear and Fury (part 2)

When dawn it Matthew awoke... First thing he thought about was Sin who was still unconscious from the previous day. Matthew didn't have the strength to fly him and Sin over to where the flock hangs around because their destination was at least an hour away and even he didn't have enough strength to fly himself anywhere.

"Great! Just great! Now what am I gonna do? I'm a flightless macaw trying to fend for himself and the one who he cares about!" He starred awhile towards the ground and wondered if he could glide them both down and perhaps carry Sin and walk the distance. "No no no! It's stupid.... Plus the dogs might be waiting for us! Ugh... But I have no choice!" He looked over at Sin and started remembering the night he laid eyes on her... His worried look faded into a smile from the memories they had spent together. "Just before you think the darkness is gone it just gets bigger... So... I'm just gonna have to burn a little brighter" he clutched his talons around Sin and found enough energy to get them both into the air, gliding towards the ground he noticed something moving in the bush... Growling as he glided  closer to the ground. "Please be a hungry bunny and not a huge dog! Or at least be a frog that has a cold!" But he knew what it was and before he could do anything a dog jumped out from the bush and snapped at the weak bird. "Hey imma flying here buddy!" Matt had no choice but to push himself to get them out of trouble... He'd have to fly and fly like he's never flown before

The young spix's flew fast and hard, his heart beated fast and loud as the sounds of a blood thirsty dog chased after him when suddenly, he heard something jump out from behind him... He wasn't sure if it was the rest of them or what! He just wanted to get out of there with Sin. The dog yelped, the sound of it scared Matt "HOLY SHIP!" He peaked behind him to find a rather skinny yet large husky fighting the wild dog and putting it into submission. "Was the dog a friend or foe? Pfft well imma not going back to check!" He thought flapping the crap out of his wings.

Matt finally came to rest on a rock near a river laying Sin gently down next to him. He jumped down to wash himself from all the sweat that was on him and cooling himself down. He heard a slight movement from behind him but he was enjoying the cool feeling of the water running through his damp feathers and the breeze slowly drying them. "So... You carried me all the way here?" He lifted his head, his eyes wide open with a smile on his beak. "Hm... My hero... Do I get to see my heros face then?" Matt turned around "look who came back from the dead!" They both grinned at each other, Sin stepped down going towards Matt
"Ugh... My wing is killing me!" "Wow! Hey, take it easy... Don't want my lil love bird injuring herself even more!" Matt smirked feeling quiet pleased with himself from the effort "ha love bird? Well then... Seeing as though I'm you're live bird how about flying me back to the flock hmm?" Sin glanced back towards Matts gave as his smirked faded "I'm only messing with ya! We're not that far away, I can look after myself doormat" they both knew they were joking around but were to caught up with each other they forgot about the dangers around them. "So... Your the two birds who these mutts are after then?" A voice appeared from the shadows... A very soft yet strong voice.
Matt stepped in front of Sin but Sin just walked past Matt curious to know who's voice it was.
"What do you mean 'after'?" Sin replied "Sin! Come back!" Whispered Matt ready to jump in front of her. "What? You don't know? You and your little 'gang' have made quiet a ruckus with the smugglers lately... And they want your bodies stuffed and ha! Your insides? Thrown to the crazy cockatoo" a light brown dog walked out from the dark rising her head from the ground "wait... Your that dog from before right? The one who attacted that dog?" Asked Matt slowly walking closer "killed actually. Luiz asked me to find you two... A bull dog who knew your what? Great uncle or something? Blu? Hm I don't know... Oh and for the record... I'm a husky... And my name is Kat."
"A dog named... Kat?" Matt felt a little strange about trusting something with teeth the size of a grape but he knew Sin felt differently... And that was good enough for him.  "Look pretty boy, do you want my help or not?" Kat sat herself down making herself look strong and proud "yes... We do. Would you know where the Cachoeira das Almas falls are? Or the
'Waterfall of souls' is?" Asked Sin feeling desperate to get back to her home with Matthew. "The waterfall of souls? Haha I haven't been there in awhile! Killed my first b-" Matts eyes widened as Kat started killing when she was a pup. "I er... Mean killed my first bug! Yep! Darn big bug! Eh he"
"great! You think to can take us there?"
"Of course! Just hop on meh back and we will be there in no time!" Matthew was still a bit cautious but got on anyway holding onto Sin which of course he didn't mind

"All right we should be in like five minutes!" Kat barked loving the warm wind flowing through her fur
"So... Sin, uh... You know when you were uh.... Passed out? Well... You didn't uh... Hear anything did you?" He gulped and squinted his eyes waiting for an answer "hm?" She was thinking for a bit then finally
gave him an answer "well, I had a dream where I was about to fall asleep with this really cute macaw... Damn wish I got to see his face clearly... Then he nudged my beak and whispered I love you..." Matt started to panic waiting for her to start teasing him about his crush for her
"Hm... But it was only a dream... Um... You ok Matt?"
"Mmhmm" his eyes were huge, like an owl really
"Waterfall of souls! Told ya it'd only take five minutes!" Kat started to go into a trot until she finally ended up walking. "Well... There you go, home. Now... Please get him off... I can smell his fear" Sin looked over at Matt then jumped off feeling the slight burst of pain running through her body
"Where is everyone?" Matt looked around waiting for some movement but nothing happened...not a sound, nothing. "They just left..." Kat sniffed the air and looked over to towards Sin. "They headed towards the beach about.... 10 minutes ago" Kat felt pretty good about herself but knew Matt still didn't exactly trust the likes of a stray but she still felt pretty damn good!

A couple of hours later they had found out they Sandow's won't be back until first thing the next morning, Kat went back to Luiz's shed and Sin was walking along the branches watching the fireflies buzz around doing their everyday business. Matt felt as if he should tell her how he felt but still he was being held back by that feeling of being rejected and teased. "Hey uh... Sin?" He muttered lowering his head
"Hey! Matt! Just the bird I wanted to see!" Sin ran up next to him and grabbing his wing and pulling him towards the top of the tree "now tell me you haven't seen anything more beautiful than this?" Sin's eyes were completely focused on the lights of Rio not paying any attention to the spix's that was looking at her "actually... Yes... I have..." Sin paused and took a deep breath. Remember Sin, he is just a boy... Your only 18 and these things happen!" Of corse, she knew thinking to herself wouldn't do any good so she turned around to face Matt.

Everything went silent as the two macaws caught each others eyes.... Fireflies danced around the two birds and a faint sound of the waterfall had a relaxing feeling for them. "Ok Matthew, you can do it... Don't be shy! She might feel the sa--" but he was interrupted by Sin as she quickly moved her head in tilting it ever so slightly so her beak locked in with his. Matthew wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not, his eyes were wide from the quick movement from Sin going in but he finally closed them and let his mind flow. Sin pulled away and whispered "I love you too..."
